Hope Academy started in September 2020. We started out of a desire to help families educate their children during the Covid school shut-downs, and ended that first year with 17 students. Fifteen of those students, plus over 15 new ones, registered for the 2021/2022 school year.

In that first year alone, students excelled in their education and character, and we were encouraged to continue on and grow as God led. The second year brought so much success and Hope Academy became so sought out by families that it hurt our hearts to have to inform parents we were full.

Out of that growing demand, we started praying and searching for property. After a long journey of viewing building options, our search ended with the purchase of the former Seventh Day Adventist School — the vast property and buildings Hope Academy calls home today.

Now, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Hope Academy is taking its next step of faith: transitioning from a Home-School Co-op into a full Private Christian School, while holding on to the same Biblical foundation and four-day school week families have come to love.

Bryan & Cindy McLean

Bryan and Cindy McLean are co-founders of Mustard Seed Ministry and Lead Pastors of Rivers of Grace Church. They have been married for over 35 years and are blessed with seven children and five grandchildren. God has called them to empower and encourage the Body of Christ.

It is through their passion for ministering to children and families that they also co-founded Hope Academy — meeting the needs of others and following the call of God. With Hope Academy highly sought after and growing quickly, God miraculously provided the amazing property that allowed the school to expand into a Private Christian School.
