Hope Academy is currently hiring elementary and middle school teachers.

Position Title: Hope Academy School Teacher
Reports To: Principal
School Type: Private Christian Home School Co-Op
Employment Type: Full-Time and Part-Time


Position Overview:The School Teacher will provide academic instruction and spiritual guidance to students in a Christ-centered learning environment. This educator will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that integrate Biblical worldview principles, support students' intellectual and character development, and create a safe, nurturing classroom culture aligned with the school’s Christian mission and values. You are a champion of educational growth and a catalyst for spiritual growth in students and families.

Key Responsibilities: Instruction & Curriculum
  • Prepare and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects (e.g., Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies) in alignment with school curriculum standards and Christian values.
  • Integrate a Biblical worldview throughout all subject areas.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning styles, abilities, and needs of students.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials.


Classroom Management
  • Maintain a structured, respectful, and joyful classroom atmosphere.
  • Foster a Christ-like classroom culture rooted in kindness, patience, and discipline.
  • Establish and communicate clear expectations for student behavior and academic performance.

Spiritual Leadership
  • Model a committed Christian life and demonstrate a deep love for Jesus Christ.
  • Lead classroom prayer, devotions, and spiritual discussions.
  • Encourage students in their personal spiritual growth and understanding of Biblical truths.

Assessment & Reporting
  • Evaluate and document student progress through regular assessments.
  • Provide timely feedback to students and communicate regularly with parents/guardians.
  • Prepare progress reports and report cards in accordance with school policies.

Collaboration & Professional Development
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues, administrators, and support staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Support school-wide activities, chapel services, and outreach events as needed

Qualifications:

Required:
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and active involvement in a local Christian church.
  • Commitment to Christian education and the ability to articulate and integrate a Biblical worldview in all aspects of teaching
  • Flexibility, a servant-hearted attitude, and a willingness to work collaboratively as a team player
  • A spirit of unity and humility in communication and decision-making
  • Prior experience teaching or assisting at the elementary or middle school level

Preferred:
  • Applicable College Degrees and experience in teaching children.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills

  • Commitment to the school’s mission, values, and doctrinal beliefs


Description of Duties of a Classroom Teacher:
  1. Teach subjects and classes as assigned using curriculum, supplementary materials, field trips, special guests, etc., to enhance them.
  2. Attends and participates in the following:
    1. Teacher’s meetings.
    2. Evening programs if involving his or her students.
    3. Other meetings as assigned.
  3. Completes paperwork Including the following:
    1. Report (grade reports) cards.
    2. Grade records for permanent file.
    3. End-of-year debriefing and evaluation.
    4. Records of attendance.
    5. Notification to parents of sub-standard behavioral or academic performance.
    6. Other paperwork as assigned or requested.
  4. Maintains classroom cleanliness and repair:
    1. Is responsible for daily and end-of-the-year cleaning of classroom area.
    2. Assists in overall cleanliness of facilities.
    3. Promptly reports repair needs to the administration.
  5. Maintains proper classroom discipline, taking care of minor infractions personally and referring major infractions, or a student with a continual pattern of misbehavior, to the principal.
  6. Is available to any parents or students who wish to have a conference after school.
  7. Holds scheduled conferences with the parents of each student.
  8. Maintains a close personal walk with the Lord evidenced by example and spiritual leadership among peers and with students.
  9. Observes the Matthew 18 principle in conflict resolution. Avoids a negative, critical spirit and takes problems to appropriate administrator as necessary.
  10. Carries out other specific duties as assigned by the Principal or Director.
